Nicely made, simple game. Uses simple addition, and takes a couple minutes to play, but you can play repeatedly. Good if you don't have much time.

This is the sixth one we have purchased. We got it for each of our Grandchildren and one for the classroom of one of them. They took it to Show & Share and the teacher loved it so we sent one for the class.

One of the ways that kids are exposed to lead is through toys made in other countries. As parents, we can prevent this exposure by not buying toys from countries with a poor track record for product inspection.

But it's important that we don't think that our kids are completely protected when we only buy toys made in the USA and Europe where standards of inspection are high.

Do you know for sure that there aren't any lead-tainted toys in your child's toybox? If you've given them some of your old toys or toys from older family members, chances are that they may not be safe from lead contamination.

Old toys, especially antique toys, may contain lead, because lead paint wasn't banned in the US until 1978. That's right. Up until that year, lead paint was used on many products including dishes, cookware and even toys.

Lead can also be present in plastic toys, because it still hasn't been banned in plastic, believe it or not. It's used to make plastic more flexible and to make it stable when heated.

Unfortunately, lead can easily leech from plastic as dust when the product is exposed to sunlight or when it's washed in the dishwasher. It may even break down merely from exposure to air!

There's no way to tell if a toy contains lead without submitting it for testing at a certified lab. So unless you know for sure that an old family heirloom is lead-free, it's best to keep old and antique toys out of the reach of children. This is especially important for young children, who often put objects into their mouths.

Keep the old toys on display or put them away out of the reach of children. While it's nice to hand down toys and collectibles, it's not worth risking your children's health with a lead-tainted toy. Stick with safe toys from sources that have proven that they're in compliance with safe manufacturing practices.
